EDWARDIAN ROMANCE WEDDING INSPIRATION FEATURED ON RUFFLED

The Big Fake Wedding Dallas was so elegant, yet fun. If the ladies at Downton had a slightly less uptight, long lost cousin - this would have been her day. The day laden England's legendary greenery, paired with classic romantic details like delicate gold jewelry and full skirted gowns. Thanks for the shout out, Ruffled Blog!

There are time when romance appears in the tiniest of details. The overwhelming scent of a freshly picked rose. The art of a soft brushstroke. Or the way a groom sees the spark in his bride’s eye from the end of the aisle. At The Big Fake Wedding, an incredibly clever Bridal Show event.

As a violinist, I often take inspiration from all things romance and mix it with my own un-stuffy flair. I am so excited to see highlights from this event featured on Ruffled today.

And, while I didn't completely stick to the Edwardian England theme for the ceremony, I worked on a contemporary/fun vibe for the bride and successfully pleased the crowd!

A modern, Jewish wedding

Sadie + Zach
I can't think of a sweeter couple to feature than Sadie and Zach, who were married on Valentine's Day 2016! The two exchanged vows at Hickory Street Annex in Deep Ellum. The busy, young duo discovered me via The Knot, and entrusted me to provide music for their entire Jewish ceremony and the cocktail hour, which was expertly pulled together by Ruth Spirer from Events by Ruth. You may read more about the couple via this New York Times Wedding Article

The couple, who have worked on a combined total of 14 Democratic political campaigns, met in 2009 at the Washington apartment of his sister . . .

Ceremony Music
Guests received Classical and Folk music while waiting for the ceremony to begin. Groomsmen entered to "Blackbird" by The Beatles. The Groom and Bridesmaids entered to "In My Life" by The Beatles. The bride entered to "My Valentine" by Paul McCartney, immediately followed by Sadie circling Zach seven times under the Chuppah (canopy). After the glass was smashed, the couple and bridal party recessed to "Siman Tov U'Mazal Tov"; played a capella, to perfectly timed claps by exuberant family and friends.

Cocktail Music
Guests mingled at the bar while I played a mix of popular tunes during the cocktail hour; I started them off with upbeat love songs like "She Will Be Loved" and worked in more energetic, upbeat tunes, like "Get Lucky" and "I Can't Feel My Face". I got the guests prepped and ready to enjoy dinner and dancing.

The "cherry on top" of the evening was seeing a HUGE HEART on Reunion Tower's lighted ball.
